FAQs

Can we talk before the first appointment?

Yes, I am happy to offer a 15-minute free phone consultation with all potential clients to discuss what is bringing them to therapy, and allow them to ask any questions about my practice. If it feels like a good fit, we will schedule our initial appointment and find a convenient time for ongoing therapy. I typically respond to all outreach within 24-48 hours.

What can I expect in the first session?

The first session is about getting to know each other. We’ll talk about what brought you in, what you’re hoping for, and how we can work together. There’s no pressure to share everything right away—we go at your pace.

Sessions are typically 45 minutes and held once a week. That said, we can adjust frequency based on your needs and goals.

Do you take insurance?

I am not in-network with any insurance panels. However, our sessions are eligible for reimbursement through your out-of-network insurance benefits. Most insurance plans with these benefits will reimburse 50-80% of each session. For more information, call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask about your behavioral or mental health out-of-network benefits. Pay attention to your deductible and reimbursement percentage.

You are responsible for payment at time of service. I accept all credit/debit cards and FSA/HSA cards. I provide a monthly superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. It is generally an easy process after you submit the first claim.

What is your cancellation policy?

I require at least 48-hour notice for all cancellations. If you cancel within this time frame, you will be responsible for the full service fee.

Do you offer teletherapy (virtual sessions)?

Yes, I offer virtual sessions via a HIPAA-secure online video platform.
